So very unexpected and so very beautiful

We are two week owners at the Westin , St John and this year we decided to add an extra day to coincide with travel plans. We booked this resort at the last minute and though there was pool construction, nothing could mar the elegant units(We stayed in 7 C) , the excellent amenities and the absolutely breathtaking views of the Caribbean and ST Thomas across the way. There is no question that the pool is under construction and access to the dock and water requires negotiation. We did some excellent snorkeling right from in front of our room and saw octopus, barracuda, angels, and tarpon as well as a nice selection of colorful butterfly fish, etc. The rooms are huge and exquisitely decorated reminiscent of the old style Caribbean decor. There is a beautifully decorated bathroom downstairs and another upstairs. We prefer the view from upstairs. When the pool is done it will be spectacular. The front desk is very helpful . The shuttle to the ferry the next day was so very appreciated. We will now be back for at least one nite every trip. The sunset and sunrise from the deck makes a trip to the island even more special. Tip -some discreet signage helping guests from upper levels to access the water would not be remiss. We saw families with older children who enjoyed the resort.

A beautiful resort in St. John

Gallows Point is by far my favorite place to stay when visiting St. John, VI. Situated in Cruz Bay it is just a short walk from town with its many restaurants and shops. Gallows Point has some of the most spectacular scenery and landscaping on the island. And the sunsets are gorgeous! My unit had a fully stocked kitchen, beautiful bedroom and sitting room, a large den and a large bathroom. Everything needed for a comfortable week…..although most of the time I was out and about on the island.

I strongly recommend dining at Ocean 362, the restaurant on the premises. There you can dine with the spectacular view of St. Thomas while the sun sets. Priceless.

St. John wedding

My boyfriend and I stayed here(3A) when we went to his best friends wedding and it was beautiful. We had the bay view and i couldnt have been more happy to be there. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Breathtaking

Simply fantastic. Their tropical landscape is impeccable. The room we had (14A) was spacious, clean and comfortable. The view was superb and the staff was extraordinary. Amazing place to call ‘home’ 🙂

Awesome place

This place is awesome! I can’t say it enough. We went to St John to stay at someone’s house and house sit for them as part of our vacation, but at the last minute and do to a series of unfortunate events things fell through. With airplane tickets all ready in hand we needed to salvage our trip plans and with a family of 5 we needed a place to stay for 6 days at the last minute.

Gallows Point came through for us and Oh! what a beautiful place it is. We had 2 units to accommodate our group (one of our kids is autistic and needed extra space). One unit was “harbor view” and the other was “ocean view”. Either of these I would recommend depending on what you like to look at while you are chilling on the patios.

Gallows Point is just minutes from Cruz Bay town center and everything is within walking distance. Even my mother-in-law at 73 yrs young had no problem walking into town each day and some days we did this several times, no car needed! They even had a van waiting for us when we arrived on the ferry from Red Hook. The staff was very courteous and polite and the grounds were meticulously kept with hundreds of butterflies fluttering around.

During our stay they were renovating the pool and cabana area so we had some construction noise to deal with but no one in our group hardly noticed. There is no beach with sand per say but there was access to the water with a staircase that looks to me like they just put in. This gave us access to the water where we (and many others) snorkeled. And at the bottom of this staircase was a landing with lounge chairs and two hammocks where my wife and I spent one evening alone watching the sunset and the dusk taking over the sky. Just absolutely wonderful.

I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again and I recommend this to anyone looking for a resort experience on St John.
